Boom on way
IPSWICH is preparing for a 20-year boom as the southeast Queensland city is forecast to grow from 160,000 residents to some 435,000 by 2031. Mayor Paul Pisasale yesterday released a new Economic Development Plan to provide direction and reference for council, staff, businesses and the community, and attract more manufacturing while retaining the city's "liveable" tag among priorities. Ipswich has 43 per cent of available industrial land in the state's south-east and will become the country's highest growth city over the next two decades. Courier Mail Return to News Index |
