Citiswich plan approved
IPSWICH City Council has given its approval for a further four lots to be developed at Citiswich Business Park. Planning and Development Committee Chairperson Councillor Paul Tully said the new lots would form part of the development's stage 2B. Land at Citiswich Business Park is available for sale or lease with lots starting from 3000 m2. The estate is planned to be developed over the next five to 10 years and could include amenities such as a cafe, gym, childcare and recreation precincts. Walker Corporation is actively developing more than $3 billion of industrial property nationally. Citiswich Business Park is the company's largest project, valued at over $1 billion and spanning more than 335 hectares. The Reject Shop, Capral Aluminium, Australian Pharmaceutical Industries, Hume Masterpanel and Australian Hardboards are already based at the estate. Cr Tully said council welcomed the further development of Citiswich as it would provide local residents with access to a significant number of jobs. Ultimately Citiswich is expected to be the base for industries employing up to 5000 people. Division 4 Councillor Trevor Nardi said the developer would be required to pay $761,628 to council for infrastructure. "A concrete path also must be constructed between Hoepner Rd and Earl St South, Dinmore to create a link for pedestrians and cyclists between Dinmore Station and the development site," Cr Nardi said.
