Walker Corporation today announced that one of Australia’s leading manufacturers of high pressure cleaners, ThoroughClean, has joined other major corporates to re-locate their operations to Walker’s $1 billion Citiswich Business Park in Ipswich.
ThoroughClean will join Caltex, KSB, API, The Reject Shop and Capral Aluminium at the estate to build a brand new facility on 4,000sqm of land in stage one of the estate.
Established in 1984, ThoroughClean manufactures industrial, high pressure water cleaners, which are used by contractors and heavy industry across Australia. Among their range of products, ThoroughClean manufacture their patented BOWLBLASTER – a unique machine used in the cleaning and preventative maintenance of cement truck bowls.
Mr Mal Stayte of ThoroughClean, said “We expect to double the size of our operations in Australia, largely by building our relationships with our partners in the rental industry, and we need a new, well presented facility to accommodate our growth and synergise with our neighbours in the precinct.
“Citiswich fulfilled our requirements after a search of a wide range of buildings west of Brisbane. No other properties compared in terms of value for money, excellent access to the national highway, and high quality estate presentation. Citiswich provides room for our planned expansion and Ipswich has a good source of skilled workers we expect to employ.
“One of the major attractions for ThoroughClean to invest in this area was the proactive approach of the Ipswich City Council and the commitment of Mayor Paul Pisasale to making this exciting project a reality. We’re pleased to be doing business here and look forward to making a long-term commitment to the region,” he added.
The land sale to ThoroughClean was brokered by King & Co agent, Paul Ekerberg.
Mr Ekerberg said “The industrial market in the Western Corridor region is really picking up. Citiswich is proving a great option for industrial users in the west – it’s priced affordably and positioned on major transport routes, so it is a prime position for major businesses to locate their new headquarters.”
Queensland Business Development Manager for Walker Corporation, Bob Miller, said “Citiswich is taking off as an important business destination in south east Queensland – we’ve had a real surge in enquiry in the last few months, and we’ve completed three major deals since the beginning of the year.
“Businesses are realising that Ipswich is a great destination for long-term business growth - there’s a proactive council here, huge investment in infrastructure, a large labour force and it’s a region providing a balanced work and lifestyle package.
“We’re working closely with Ipswich City Council to attract both large and small business to the estate - we can accommodate land parcels from 3,000sqm right up to 50,000 square metres for sale, lease or turnkey”, he added.
Ipswich mayor Paul Pisasale welcomed ThoroughClean to the city of Ipswich and thanked Walker Corporation for their continued work to attract business to the region.
“We know ThoroughClean will prosper by locating their business in Ipswich – we’ve got a very bright outlook here over the long term, and we’re pleased to welcome businesses that will bring more jobs and growth to the region.
“The location of Citiswich and the significant investment made by Walker Corporation has placed the precinct in a strong position to attract more new businesses to the city,” he said.
Citiswich Business Park forms part of a $3 billion portfolio of industrial projects that Walker is completing in growth centres around the nation, including the new 30 hectare Northpoint Business Park in Murrumba Downs on Brisbane’s northside.
