A business specializing in manufacturing high pressure water cleaners will be the newest company to set up shop at Citiswich Business Park near Dinmore.

Currently based at Peak Crossing, ThoroughClean will move their Queensland operations to Citiswich and hope to have their warehouse up and running by September.

General manager Mal Stayte said the move to the bigger 2000sqm facility would help the business expand and double its staff level.

"We’re expecting our operations in Australia to double, especially with our new cement truck cleaning machine, so our staff will expand as well," Mr. Stayte said.

"We already have Ipswich residents in our workforce and we’ll be looking to hire more once we’ve moved in and are operational.

"We looked at other locations to expand our business, but in terms of access to highways, price and presentation of the estate, moving to Citiswich and Ipswich was the best option."

Mr. Stayte said with their new facility’s new space, there was possibility they could expand even further.

"While we expect to double once we open up at the end of the year, we still have scope to grow beyond that if everything falls into place," he said.

"With our existing and new products we’ll be continuing to push into Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and then into Asia."

Established in 1984, ThoroughClean manufactures industrial, high-pressure water cleaners which are used by contractors and heavy industry.

Walker Corporation Queensland business development manager Bob Miller said it was the third major deal secured for the industrial site in 2010.

"Businesses are realizing that Ipswich is a great destination for long-term business growth. There’s a proactive council here, huge investment in infrastructure, a large labour force and it’s a region providing a balanced work and lifestyle package," he said.

Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale welcomed ThoroughClean to Ipswich and said the council would act to attract more job-generating businesses to Ipswich.

"We know ThoroughClean will prosper by locating their business in Ipswich. We’ve got a very bright outlook here over the long term, and we’re pleased to welcome businesses that will bring more jobs and growth to the region," he said.

"The location of Citiswich and the significant investment made by Walker Corporation has placed the precinct in a strong position to attract more new businesses to the city."

ThoroughClean will join Caltex, KSB, API, The Reject Shop and Capral Aluminium at the estate.
