'The industrial market in the western corridor region is really picking up'

Paul Ekeberg

INDUSTRIAL deals are still flowing west of Brisbane with a manufacturer of high-pressure water cleaners splashing out for a site near Ipswich.

ThoroughClean is the latest company to stake its claim in Walker Corporation's $1 billion Citiswich Business Park.

It plans to build a new facility on a 4000sq m parcel of land in Stage 1 of the estate at Bundamba.

ThoroughClean general manager Mal Stayte said the purchase was prompted by a need to accommodate expansion.

"We expect to double the size of our operations in Australia . . . and we need a new, well presented facility to accommodate our growth," he said. "Citiswich provides room for our planned expansion and Ipswich has a good source of skilled workers we expect to employ."

The company had looked at several options west of Brisbane but chose Citiswich because it ticked all the boxes. "We're pleased to be doing business here and look forward to a long-term commitment to the region."

Paul Ekeberg of King & Co negotiated the deal.

"The industrial market in the western corridor region is really picking up," he said.

He said major businesses such as ThoroughClean were locating their operations at Citiswich because it was affordable and on major transport routes.

ThoroughClean will join Caltex, KSB, API, The Reject Shop and Capral Aluminium at the estate.

The sale price has not been disclosed but sites are marketed for between $250/sq m and $275/sq m.

Walker Corp Queensland business development manager Bob Miller said there had been a surge in inquiries at Citiswich.

"We've completed three major deals since the beginning of the year."
