Walker Projects

26 September 2011

Walker Corporation today announced that global manufacturer and distributor of steel and finished steel products, OneSteel Reinforcing has joined other major businesses to relocate their operations to Walker’s $1 billion Citiswich Business Park in Bundamba.

OneSteel Reinforcing will join KSB, ThoroughClean, API, Reject Shop, Caltex, Hume, Capral Aluminium & True Blue Beverages at the estate to build a brand new 2,000sqm warehousing and distribution facility in stage one of the estate fronting the Warrego Highway.

Operational since 1928, OneSteel Reinforcing is Australia's premier supplier of steel reinforcing solutions for commercial, residential and civil construction as well as mining, agriculture and manufacturing sector. OneSteel Reinforcing has a national branch network which enables them to service their customers Australia wide supplying quality steel reinforcing products from the home renovator to Australia’s largest construction companies.

Geoff Johnson, Manager Northern Region for OneSteel Reinforcing said the business is locating their new facility at Citiswich to better service their existing and new clients. OneSteel Reinforcing will take advantage of the daily exposure to 40,000 vehicles along the Warrego Highway along with being located in the future growth corridor which is fast becoming a central location for businesses.

“Both brand recognition and exposure is important to OneSteel Reinforcing and the location of Citiswich was perfect for addressing this. After difficulties finding highway exposure and parcels suitable for smaller facilities like ours, Citiswich was the answer for us in terms of value for money, access to the national highway network, and high quality estate presentation” he said.

Executive Chairman of Walker Corporation, Lang Walker said Walker was pleased to assist OneSteel Reinforcing in finding a new location for their Queensland branch network.

“OneSteel Reinforcing is a great addition to the high calibre of tenants already committed at Citiswich Business Park and we look forward to working with them to deliver their new facility in the months ahead.

Our flexible lot sizes and exposure to so many vehicles daily is a big draw card for industrial businesses such as OneSteel Reinforcing and with its easy access to three major highways, Citiswich really is the ideal industrial business destination.

We are pleased to welcome OneSteel Reinforcing to the estate and have no doubt the location and exposure of their purpose built facility will help to serve their clients extremely well” Mr Walker said.

Citiswich Business Park forms part of a $3 billion portfolio of industrial projects that Walker is completing in growth centres around the nation, including the new 30 hectare Northpoint Business Park in Murrumba Downs on Brisbane’s northside.
